En Français Ruth Bull was born in 1947 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She studied saxophone at Carnegie Mellon University, in Pittsburgh . After immigrating to Canada in 1968 she studied contemporary art at the New School of Art in Toronto. She was also involved in music performance at the Music Gallery, Toronto, received 2 Ontario Arts Council awards and exhibited at the Idee Gallery. In 1991 she moved to Digby Neck, Nova Scotia. In Nova Scotia she has combined music performance with art exhibits at coffee houses in Wolfville, N.S., Frederickton, N.B., Oakdene Center, Bear River N.S., Galerie Saule, Little Brook N.S.. She has exhibited in group and solo shows at Galerie Saule, Vans Nova Scotia , Conseil des Arts, Universite St. Anne, Clare, N.S., and has an upcoming exhibit at Annapolis Regional Arts Council, Annapolis N.S. in 2007.
