Cecil Day received a BA from Indiana University in 1960 and an MFA from Washington University in St. Louis in 1973.She moved to Canada in 1979 and has lived in Newfoundland and Nova Scotia. Residencies awarded by the Art Gallery of Newfoundland and Labrador were in Gros Morne in 1999 and Brigus in 2006. The NF. Tideline series was made possible by a grant from Nova Scotia Dept. of Culture in 2005.


Cecil Day a obtenu un baccalauréat ès arts à Indiana University en 1960 et une maîtrise ès beaux-arts à Washington University à St. Louis en 1973. Elle a déménagé au Canada en 1979 et vécu à Terre-Neuve et en Nouvelle-Écosse. Elle s'est vu attribuer des résidences par la Galerie d'art de Terre-Neuve-et-Labrador à Gros Morne en 1999 et à Brigus en 2006. La série "NF Tideline" a été rendue possible par une subvention du ministère de la Culture de la Nouvelle-Écosse en 2005.
